Our Family Week
Drag a card to another person's day, or click any cell to schedule a new commitment.
Household chore tracker
Assign small jobs, set their day and mark them completed. Chores stay separate from timed calendar commitments.
Coordination & pickup review
Automatic checks flag simultaneous commitments for the same person, including family-wide events. Pickup preparation is a reminder, not a travel-time guarantee.
One family week, four moving parts.
Family planning is more than filling calendar squares. School hours affect pickup arrangements; work commitments affect the person who can drive; chores need an owner and a realistic day; and appointments need enough context to make the handoff possible. This family schedule template keeps those responsibilities visible without turning your home into a workforce-management system.
Give each household member a lane and easily distinguish commitments that involve everybody.
Record school start/end, after-school clubs, pickup owner, meeting point and transport reminders.
Track dinner preparation, laundry, recycling and other small household jobs with completion checkboxes.
Move appointments, check double bookings, adjust who is responsible and make a printable backup.
Choose the right family scheduling template
The five starting layouts intentionally serve different purposes. They are editable fictional examples—not personal recommendations or mandatory routines. A blank plan is available whenever your household does not fit the example.
| Starting plan | Best use | What to customize first |
|---|---|---|
| Family Weekly Hub | School, parents' work, activities, meals | Names, actual pickup caregiver and school day |
| School Runs & Activities | Multi-child school logistics and clubs | Pickup locations, journeys and supervision |
| Chore Rotation | Shared housework, weekend reset and routines | Ownership, due day and household capacity |
| Appointments & Errands | Health appointments and caregiver handoffs | Real dates, travel buffers and preparation |
| Weekend Family Plan | Weekend activities, chores and relaxed time | Free-time margin and who is attending |

How to make the timetable realistic and manageable
Separate commitments from flexibility. School, a medical appointment and a work shift are relatively fixed. Reading, laundry or a family walk often have more flexibility. Put commitments on the calendar first, then assign adaptable tasks to open periods. The tool intentionally stores chores separately, because finishing the dishes does not always require occupying a fixed appointment slot.
Record responsibility and attendance separately. A pickup belongs to the caregiver doing it, not necessarily the child attending the lesson. Create a pickup card for the caregiver and a school or activity card for the child. Enter an explicit location or pickup note; a conflict report can flag an overlap but does not know traffic, school access rules or whether another adult can step in.
Be cautious with family-wide events. Use the Everyone lane for a shared meal, trip or household gathering. Such commitments may overlap individual activities by design, but overlapping a caregiver's work shift is worth reviewing. The warning is informational and will never silently erase a planned activity.
Reserve quiet and recovery time. A household week can look tidy on paper but feel overfilled in practice. Leave room for getting ready, sleep, getting home from school and unexpected delays. Do not interpret an empty cell as proof that a person is free: the software only knows commitments you enter.
Handle sensitive family data carefully. Guest drafts are stored in the current browser and device. Cloud save is optional and depends on the signed-in account and configured database permissions. Avoid putting confidential health details, passwords or sensitive children's information into event descriptions, shared exports or printed sheets where others can see them.
Use the most suitable export. Print/PDF offers a readable household noticeboard. CSV supports checking event details in a spreadsheet. ICS imports dated calendar events into compatible calendar software. JSON is the most complete portable copy for recovering the planner's own people, chores and notes. Calendar subscriptions and two-way external calendar syncing are not provided by this page.
