READY-MADE ACADEMIC TIMETABLES
Class Timetable Templates Built Around Real Class Periods.
Open an editable school, college, teaching, laboratory or homeschool timetable. Rearrange subjects directly in the period grid, adjust lesson times, record rooms and instructors, review collisions, then print a clear weekly plan.
01 · SELECT YOUR SCHOOL WEEK
Five distinct starting timetables.
Every card loads a complete sample rather than an empty table. Your personal edits are never replaced without confirmation.
02 · YOUR EDITABLE TIMETABLE
Arrange each period visually.
Click an empty time slot for a new class. Click a subject block to edit; drag to another day/time or use the bottom grip to change its duration. All blocks have accessible exact-time form controls.
Tip: dragging works with a pointer or mouse; touch and keyboard users can click a lesson and edit its date, start time and end time. Room and instructor warnings are diagnostics, not verified room reservations.
Timetable review
Totals update when you edit, move or remove classes. Concurrent lessons are counted separately.
CLASS TIMETABLE ESSENTIALS
A useful timetable explains more than the next lesson.
A recurring class timetable should let a learner, instructor or school administrator find a subject, start time, classroom and contact person without searching multiple documents. Academic schedules are different from study plans: this page maps fixed instructional periods, whereas an independent revision planner deals with flexible study tasks and deadlines. Use the editable example to build a clear weekly map, then verify it before a class or term begins.
Period-level accuracy
Use exact starting and finishing times for lectures, classes, laboratories and tutorials. Different academic institutions use different period lengths, so the editor does not force a universal 50-minute lesson.
Room and instructor context
Record a classroom, campus location or laboratory and the named teacher. Timetable warnings help reveal two assignments using the same room or instructor simultaneously.
Flexible week design
Rearrange an existing subject to a new weekday or period without rebuilding all entries. Longer laboratory periods can be extended; shorter tutorials can be adjusted with precise minute values.
Print and term exports
Print a one-week overview, export a row-by-row CSV or generate finite calendar events for a chosen number of weeks. Check holidays and term breaks separately because they are not inferred automatically.
COMPLETE CLASS TIMETABLE USER GUIDE
From a ready-made sample to your own teaching week.
Follow these steps in order. Every feature explained here corresponds to a control in the editor. For accessibility or precise revisions, the lesson form remains available even when a drag operation is difficult on a phone.
Start with the correct learning setting
Select School Timetable to see six lesson periods across Monday to Friday, College Week for M/W/F and Tuesday/Thursday meetings, Teacher Schedule to include preparation and supervision, STEM & Lab for longer practical sessions, or Homeschool for flexible supervised subjects. These are fictional examples and should be adapted to your institution's timetable. The blank option clears the schedule only after confirmation. Choosing another example also prompts before discarding the current layout; Undo can restore the previous draft during the active session.
Set a Monday reference date and your calendar horizon
The week date controls the Monday used as an export reference. Because this is a repeating class timetable, moving the reference date does not create a new set of assignments; it changes where weekly blocks begin on the real calendar. Choose 4, 8, 12, 16 or 20 weeks for finite calendar export. This is useful for a school term or university semester but does not automatically exclude public holidays, examination weeks, vacations or institution-specific closures.
Click an empty slot or select Add Lesson
Click any unoccupied part of the weekly grid to open a form prefilled with the corresponding day and approximate time. Enter the subject or lesson title, choose Lesson, Lab, Tutorial or Study/Prep, provide exact start and end time, and optionally set a teacher, room and supporting note. Saved lessons appear as colored blocks within the appropriate weekday column. The tool accepts minute-based periods and does not silently round the values entered into the exact form.
Move a lesson or resize a practical period
Drag a block up or down to choose a different start period, or across to another weekday. The lesson's length is preserved during movement. Drag its bottom handle to lengthen or shorten the period in 15-minute increments. Pointer movement is designed for the visible time grid; if the desired time is outside the current view, switch to Full 24 hours or open the editor to type the exact start and end. The tool prevents zero-duration periods and blocks that finish after the 24-hour day boundary.
Distinguish classes, rooms and people
Use concise subject labels, then add a teacher/instructor and classroom where known. For a teacher's schedule, planning and duty blocks can have their own category and location, making non-teaching periods explicit. The example names are placeholders only. Consistently spelled names make conflict checks more useful; "Room 10" and "Rm 10" cannot automatically be recognized as the same room without normalization by the editor.
Review overlaps and double bookings
The review detects overlapping blocks on the same day, and identifies when the same specified teacher or room is assigned to overlapping periods. Overlaps can be expected when a timetable is a combined institution-wide overview of separate groups; in a single student's timetable, two simultaneous lessons are normally a clash. Do not treat a conflict-free display as confirmation that a room has been reserved or a teacher has accepted the lesson.
Protect your timetable before major changes
Changes are autosaved in the current browser under a new versioned key. If you used the older Class Timetables tool, this editor can read its saved guest draft on first load without modifying the original key. Download JSON for a portable complete backup and Restore it to return to a specific snapshot. Undo and Redo are short-term editing controls; JSON backup is the safer recovery option when switching browsers or clearing storage.
Choose PDF, spreadsheet or calendar output
Print/PDF produces a compact weekly timetable suitable for a desk, noticeboard or school folder. CSV lists lesson rows and basic context. ICS exports individual recurring-week occurrences across the chosen finite duration using local wall-clock times, which lets calendar applications display them in the importing calendar's timezone. Check the first and final weeks and manually remove holidays if required. Importing ICS is not the same as sending automatic class reminders.
Save a separate copy to My Schedules
Guest mode requires no sign-in. When an existing site-wide account session is active, Save to My Schedules creates a cloud copy using the site's schedules and events structure, with a label identifying this template page. Loading looks for a matching Class Timetables copy rather than opening an unrelated study schedule. The cloud controls cannot verify school information systems, live room availability or attendance. Live Supabase policies must be configured and tested by the site owner.
Make the timetable dependable for real use
Confirm subject names, instructor identifiers, room numbers, passing time, laboratory preparation and class duration. Review Friday-to-Monday arrangements and the timetable's intended timezone. Print a draft and verify that long titles remain readable. This page is a flexible document and calendar aid, not a substitute for institutional enrollment, room-booking, student attendance or school administration systems.
TEMPLATE COMPARISON
Different academic settings, different weekly patterns.
School: Period-based learning with regular daily subjects, breaks and rooms. College: Separate recurring lecture and seminar days. Teacher: Classes plus preparation, supervision and campus movement. STEM: Longer practical or laboratory teaching alongside shorter theory sessions. Homeschool: Flexible instructional blocks with reading, numeracy, physical activities and projects. These are starting patterns rather than prescriptions for teaching hours or curriculum requirements.
TIMETABLE QUALITY CHECKLIST
Review before publishing a class timetable
- Confirm the exact weekday, class time and duration for each subject.
- Check instructor and room collisions, including short transitions between locations.
- Allow realistic passing time, laboratory setup and appropriate breaks.
- Verify the calendar start date, term length and excluded holidays.
- Choose a clear print orientation and retain a dated backup before replacing examples.
QUESTIONS ABOUT CLASS TIMETABLES
Answers for school, college and teaching schedules.
These answers relate to the actual features of this editable template page. They do not describe a school-wide student-information or enrollment system.
What is a class timetable template?
A pre-arranged weekly set of subjects or sessions with assigned days and times. It may also show the teacher, room and lesson type. Each example on this page is editable and can be replaced by a blank week.
Can I use the templates for both school and university?
Yes. The school example contains several daily periods while the college example uses typical M/W/F and T/Th meetings. Change all example times and titles to match your actual educational setting.
Can I drag classes to different days?
Yes. Move an existing card to another visible date column or time. The exact editor is also available for touch, keyboard and precise time adjustments.
How do I change a 50-minute class into a 90-minute laboratory?
Open the card editor and set exact start/end times, or use the bottom resize grip in 15-minute steps. Set the category to Lab so the longer practical block is visually distinct.
What if two classes overlap?
The tool flags timetable intersections on the same day and specifically marks shared rooms or instructors when entered. Simultaneous unrelated classes can be intentional on a combined schedule, so review the context.
Does it automatically book classrooms or contact teachers?
No. Room and instructor entries are user-provided labels. The tool does not query a live booking database, send assignments or verify availability.
Can I record a teacher's planning period or supervision duty?
Yes. The Teacher Schedule example includes non-class activities; users can assign the Study/Prep category and fill in a duty title, time, room and notes.
Can I create a 16-week course calendar?
Yes. Select the calendar start date and choose 16 weeks before exporting ICS. The export includes finite lesson occurrences; it does not automatically omit holidays or academic breaks.
What is the difference between class timetables and a study planner?
Class timetables primarily contain fixed instructional meetings. Study planners arrange flexible independent revision, homework sessions and exam preparation around those fixed times.
Does guest mode save my timetable?
It autosaves to this browser's local storage. If that data is erased, guest changes may be lost. Download a JSON backup before clearing your browser or replacing the plan.
Can I save the same timetable to My Schedules?
If the global ScheduleFlowLab account system is signed in and the database permissions allow it, the cloud button creates a separate tagged copy. It does not modify your site's header or account settings.
Which export should I choose?
Use Print/PDF for a visual weekly reference, CSV for editable row data, ICS for importing dated lessons into a calendar, and JSON to back up and restore the complete planning state.
